JACQUES PIGEON
production designer
After completing studies in graphic design, Jacques Pigeon founded a design studio and cabinet-making workshop he ran for seven years, which led him to work with several art directors. He quickly became art director himself and also worked on various film sets.
Having evolved into a creative design and art direction company, Jacques Pigeon Design then began to make its mark in the fields of advertising, film and television. In 1989, Jacques received a Gemini Award: his work was rewarded in the “Best Set Design, All Categories” category.
Specialized in set design, visual effects and stage devices, he now collaborates with numerous directors and producers. Fascinated by the infinitely small and the infinitely large, passionate about design and architecture, he is constantly on the lookout for new challenges.
Among his most significant achievements in television, Jacques Pigeon has designed sets for a wide array of shows and series: information shows, variety shows, televised specials and award shows, drama series, game shows, televised news shows and children’s shows.
For 25 years, Jacques Pigeon has been surrounding himself with valuable contributors to design and build these sets: “A set is the result of close collaboration between varied and talented artisans; with the right idea, proper and careful design and the good work of a multidisciplinary team of knowledgeable individuals, the resulting product is always astonishing.”
Jacques Pigeon also specializes in 3D environments and CGI, as well as computerized animation. He is also currently pursuing a number of personal and professional artistic ventures.
